Women Atop Their Fields Dissect the Scientific Life
Submitted by sjyork on Tue, 06/07/2011 - 4:08pm
Check out this interview, Women Atop Their Fields Dissect the Scientific Life, by Gina Kolata with four women scientists at the top of their fields. From researching complex medical conditions to searching for dark matter, these women have made an impact
on science and the gender discrimination that continues to restrict opportunities for women in their fields. They discuss the challenges of finding work:life balance and how to help the younger generation of female scientists move ahead. Sadly, they wouldn’t recommend that their own daughters become scientists but they all said they supported intensifying efforts to promote women’s advancement as an institutional priority.
