As the healthcare reform debate heats up following the House passage of the Affordable Health Care Act (HR 3962), several of NCRW Member Centers have launched innovative campaigns to ensure that women's health needs and voices are not left out of any legislative action. Check out these campaigns from the Women's Media Center, the National Women's Law Center, and the American Association for University Women:

Who's to Blame for Stupak?
The Women's Media Center is deeply concerned about the future for millions of women and outraged that health care reform became the vehicle for the government to take away a woman's right to choose. How did this happen, who is responsible, and what can you do to stop Stupak?

An Attack on Reproductive Health Care: The New Domestic Gag Rule AAUW has long advocated for choice in the determination of one's reproductive life and increased access to health care and family planning services. There's no doubt that health care reform is desperately needed, but it should not come on the backs of women. A fundamental principle of health care has always been to "do no harm." Make no mistake; the Stupak amendment does just that--leaving millions of women worse off than they were before.
