Getting Women into the Political Arena
May 15, 2009 posted by admin
This past year has been a whirlwind for women and politics! The campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin demonstrated that sexism in the media is far from dead. A number of powerful women are playing vital roles in the new administration. And Obama’s first 100 days proved to be very woman-friendly. Of course, our work is far from done.
In June, 4 of NCRW’s political experts will come together to discuss how to develop a political agenda that is inclusive and representative. Victoria Budson from the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard, Leslie Wolfe of the Center for Women Policy Studies, The White House Project President Marie Wilson, and Nicole Mason from the NYU Women of Color Policy Network will speak on our conference panel “Developing a Political Agenda at State and National Levels.” We’re giving you the opportunity to get involved with this panel, even before the conference begins!
If you have questions you’d like to see addressed by the panelists or just a comment on this topic, please add your voice here in the comments section. Hope to see you at NCRW’s conference in June!
