A Letter from Lucie Lapovsky - Chair, Board of Directors
Dear Friend,
I am delighted to announce that after a careful and very competitive search, the Board of the National Council for Research on Women has unanimously selected Áine Duggan as its fourth president. Áine is the perfect person to lead the Council at this time in its history. She understands and is dedicated to using research to set the agenda and power change, and has a passion for making the world more equitable for women and girls.
I want to thank Linda Basch, who we have named President Emerita, for her outstanding leadership of the Council during its last 16 years. She has grown the Council into a major force by harnessing the power of research, policy, and advocacy to move the women's agenda forward and she has welcomed a diverse group of organizations and people under the Council's umbrella. Moving forward, the Council is committed to continuing as an agent of change for advancing the progress of women and girls, using its large and strong network fueled by research.
Please joining me in thanking Linda for her exceptional leadership, and welcoming Áine to the Presidency of our important organization.
Best wishes,
Lucie Lapovsky,
Chair, Board of Directors,
National Council for Research on Women
