It is an honor to step into the role of President of the National Council for Research on Women. As I travel around the country in the coming months, I look forward to meeting and speaking with many of you. Hearing from and working collaboratively with members and partners is my priority as I set out to build on the numerous accomplishments of Mariam, Mary Ellen and Linda.

I am delighted to announce that after a careful and very competitive search, the Board of the National Council for Research on Women has unanimously selected Áine Duggan as its fourth president. Áine is the perfect person to lead the Council at this time in its history. She understands and is dedicated to using research to set the agenda and power change, and has a passion for making the world more equitable for women and girls.

As many of you know, today I have stepped aside as President of the National Council for Research on Women and passed the baton to Aine Duggan, our impressive new President, about whom you have just received a press release.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your superb support over the almost 16 years of my leadership; we accomplished a great deal together, building a potent mix of research, collaboration and advocacy.
