All have been nominated by their peers for their outstanding work.
CEO & Founder, Womensphere
Analisa Balares is CEO-Founder of Womensphere, a global leadership community dedicated to “Unleashing Potential. Creating Opportunity. Inspiring Impact. Transforming the World.” Since 2008, Womensphere has reached over 10,000 leaders, produced 20 conferences/forums, and convened 3,000 women on leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Analisa worked at Microsoft on their social networking service, and in Goldman Sachs Investment Banking, where she helped execute $1.5 billion in IPOs/financings for technology companies. She is a Harvard Business School and Mount Holyoke College alumna. Analisa is recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader, and is listed among the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in America.
Former CEO, Girl Scouts of the USA
As Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of the USA, Kathy Cloninger led a sweeping transformation that prepared the organization to meet the needs of the 21st century. At the same time, she helped bring Girl Scouting to a renewed focus on its historic root mission: developing the leadership capacity of girls. Under her direction, the Girl Scouts developed a groundbreaking national program to help build girl leaders, and intensified its program of original research on girls and girls’ issues. The transformation of Girl Scouting Cloninger spearheaded greatly strengthened this iconic American institution and positioned it for the 2012 Year of the Girl initiatives currently under way.
Dina Dublon is a long-standing advocate for women’s advancement in finance, business, and across sectors. Frequently recognized among Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women, she has received numerous honors including NCRW’s Making a Difference for Women Award. Dina recently joined the faculty of Harvard Business School after an impressive career at JPMorgan Chase where she was EVP and Chief Financial Officer. She is a director of Microsoft, PepsiCo, and Accenture; a trustee of Carnegie Mellon University, and a board member of the Global Fund for Women. Born in Brazil, she was co-chair of the Women’s Refugee Commission until June 2010.

Tiffany embodies the power of the next generation of women leaders by enthusiastically leading her team, and engaging countless others in this work by meeting people where they are and leveraging technology to connect with the most diverse audience possible.
Co-CEO, Chadick Ellig
Janice Ellig demonstrates a deep commitment to diversity by advocating the recruitment of women and minority candidates into leadership positions. A co-founder of the first Iowa Women’s Leadership Conference, she has published numerous articles on the subject of women’s leadership and is co-author of two business books. Janice is a regular speaker on college campuses, and in honor of her sister, launched an annual scholarship for women at the University of Iowa. She was the first women to Chair the YMCA of Greater New York Board of Directors and is immediate past President of the New York Women’s Forum. Janice applauds companies that recognize that women are a strategic business imperative and represent 50% of the population – their employees, shareholders, and customers.

Anne Erni is an innovative leader in developing people to reach their potential. She heads Leadership, Learning and Diversity at Bloomberg, managing global initiatives in leadership and diversity. Prior, she was Chief Diversity Officer at Lehman Brothers pioneering global efforts in the retention and advancement of women and under-represented groups in financial services and she created the award-winning Encore program, to re-train individuals resuming their careers. Anne brings 15 years of banking and capital markets experience with private and public sector clients. She received her BA and MA from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Bologna, Italy.
Helen M. GaltSenior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer and Company Actuary, Prudential Financial, Inc.
Responsible for Prudential’s risk management infrastructure and actuarial processes, Helen Galt has distinguished herself as a pioneer dedicated to encouraging women and minorities into actuarial careers and to developing a future generation of professionals that is prepared to face the technical and ethical challenges of tomorrow. As a committed champion of women’s initiatives at Prudential, such as its flagship Women in Finance organization, Helen has led a sustained focus on developing women at Prudential as leaders, and using the power of an inclusive, supportive network to help women to realize their professional and personal potential.
VP, Assistant Treasurer – Risk Management, PepsiCo
Renee Garbus, initiated and led PepsiCo’s Westchester involvement in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. She engaged over 400 employees, and helped raise over $135,000 cumulatively, putting PepsiCo in the Top10 for both corporate participation and fundraising. Two years ago, Renee saw an opportunity for PepsiCo's Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN) in Westchester to engage employees in raising awareness for breast cancer through participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. With a team of volunteers, she set out to drive participation in the September 2009 race. The first year, the team raised $27,000 from 136 PepsiCo race participants, families and friends. In year 2, Renee tripled participation to 400 and raised $40,000 before matching. Renee’s leadership, perseverance, and personal investment has made this event a big success.
Rose E. Gorman
Supervisor, Community Engagement Department, StoryCorps
Rose Gorman witnesses the impact of storytelling in its multiple forms. She leads workshops for LGBT homeless youth through the NY Writers Coalition and is a Community Engagement Supervisor at StoryCorps, a national oral history organization. As a member of StoryCorps’ Participant Diversity Project Team, Rose works to envision and implement organizational strategies that ensure the archive of voices housed at the Library of Congress’ American Folklife Center accurately reflect the nation’s diversity, and here, the female voice’s range is paramount. For Rose, the act of storytelling – telling one’s story, in one’s own words and on one’s own terms – is key to female empowerment.

President & CEO, The Women Donors Network
Donna Hall has dedicated her career to empowering women from all walks of life, as a leader in the non-profit world, a mentor to young women starting their careers, and as an activist committed to full equality of women and girls around the globe. Donna has served as President & CEO of the Women Donors Network (WDN) since 2002, where she has helped to build a community of progressive women investing their strategic savvy, energy, and philanthropic dollars to create a more just and fair world. Donna, a Stanford MBA, works to bridge the nonprofit sector with the business world.
Joan Gustafson Haworth
Founder and Retired Managing Director, Economic Research Services Group
Joan Gustafson Haworth’s career as an economist, scholar, entrepreneur and statistical expert witness in employment discrimination cases had a substantial impact on the development of equitable employment policies and practices in U.S. workplaces. She testified in precedent-setting class action Title VII lawsuits such as EEOC v. Sears and Dukes v. Wal-Mart. A former tenured Florida State University faculty member, she has authored over 30 articles that were published in economic, statistical and legal journals. In 1981, she founded ERS Group, a national consulting firm specializing in statistical analyses of the outcomes of employment decision-making processes for women and other demographic groups. For 30 years, she served as a member of the board of the American Economic Association’s Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession.
Former President, Mills College
Janet Holmgren has spent much of her life advocating for women’s leadership. She served as the President of Mills College for 20 years where she remains on the faculty as the Susan Mills Professor of English. At Mills, she was known for advancing women's leadership as well as access to top quality education for women. In her volunteer life, she chaired the American Council on Education, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement for Teaching, and The National Council for Research on Women for several years. She also served on the Academic Affairs Committee of the Princeton University Board of Trustees. Jan currently serves on the Board of the International Museum of Women.
Chairman of Venture Capital Initiatives and Chief Innovation Officer, Citi
Deborah Hopkins is being recognized for her leadership at Citi in driving client-focused innovation, supporting emerging technologies and championing the advancement of women, by ensuring sponsorship and advocacy, to senior management. She is Chairman of Venture Capital Initiatives and Chief Innovation Officer at Citi. She joined Citi in 2003 and became Chief Operations & Technology Officer later that year. She was named Chief Innovation Officer in 2008. Based in Palo Alto, California, her mission is client-focused innovation. Before coming to Citi, Debbie’s roles included CFO for The Boeing Company and Lucent Technologies. Fortune magazine has twice named her one of the most powerful women in American business.
Eleanor Horne has been a strong advocate for women and girls throughout her personal and professional life. She is the immediate past chair of the National Council for Research on Women. Eleanor worked for the Educational Testing Services (ETS) from 1969 until her retirement in 2010. She held a variety of positions at ETS over the years and since 2006, she has served as vice president of the company’s Social Investment Fund. Eleanor has won many awards including the National Urban League’s highest honor, the Donald H. McGannon Award. She serves on many boards including The College of New Jersey, the Lawrence Township Community Foundation, and she co-chairs the Lawrence Hopewell Trail Corporation, and is vice chair of the Princeton Area Community Foundation and the D&R Greenway Land Trust.
Chief Diversity Officer, Goldman Sachs
Edie Hunt has been and continues to be an exemplary champion for the advancement of women from both a social and economic perspective. She is engaged, supportive and committed to helping women globally leave a footprint of success. For years, Edie has been active with key organizations and programs like the Forte Foundation (former chair), Women’s Campaign International (board member), Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women (representative) and the Trustee’s Council of Penn Women (vice chair). Many of Goldman Sachs’ internal diversity programs for women have been initiated under Edie’s leadership. She has acted as mentor to the women at Goldman Sachs and has advocated for them, ensuring talented women are well represented at all levels – from analyst to partner. She continues to be the firm’s Chief Diversity Officer and serves in an advisory capacity on key talent management initiatives.
Helen LaKelly HuntFounder and President, The Sister Fund
Activist, author, and National Women’s Hall of Fame inductee Helen LaKelly Hunt has helped change the face of women’s philanthropy. She is founder and president of The Sister Fund, a private women’s fund dedicated to the social, political, economic, and spiritual empowerment of women and girls. The historic Women Moving Millions initiative, which Hunt co-founded, inspires high-net worth women to give boldly to women and girls. Raising over $200 million to date, WMM provides a powerful voice for women globally. She has also written Faith and Feminism: A Holy Alliance, which lifts up the dynamic synergy between feminism and progressive faith traditions.
President and CEO, Global Fund for Women
Musimbi Kanyoro is an international leader and advocate for the health, development, and human rights of women, girls and minority groups. She is currently President and CEO of the Global Fund for Women, the largest publicly supported grantmaking foundation that advances human rights by investing in women-led organizations worldwide. Musimbi’s career accomplishments include adding girl’s education and women’s leadership to the Packard Foundation grantmaking program
while Director of the Population Program, and championing practices to ensure the representation of women under 30 on local, national, and global boards. She has written and published extensively on matters affecting the lives of women and children.
Jacqueline “Jackie” Joyner-Kersee, born in East St. Louis, Illinois, is often heralded as the greatest Female Athlete of the 20th Century, having won three gold, one silver, and two bronze Olympic medals, in four different Track & Field events in four consecutive Olympiads. Joyner-Kersee, also known for her philanthropic efforts, is dedicated to improving the lives of East St. Louis youth through the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation where she’s the founder and Chair. She’s also a founder of Athletes for Hope, which helps professional athletes get involved in charitable causes and inspires millions of non-athletes to volunteer and support their communities.
Barbara G. Koster
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Prudential Financial, Inc.
Barbara Koster has been widely honored for excellence in business, technology and women’s advocacy. She is a member of Executive Women in NJ, and serves on the boards of trustees of The Prudential Foundation and Liberty Science Center. Barbara has paved a path for women to pursue careers in business and technology and works closely with organizations such as Girl Scouts of America New Jersey to encourage young women in high school and college to focus on math and science. She also spearheaded Prudential’s sponsorship of Workforce Opportunity Services, which provides career opportunities for high school graduates and military veterans; sponsors a mentoring group at Rutgers University to help women find careers in business; and actively supports Women’s Unlimited, Inc., which develops women leaders of the future.

Carolyn Buck Luce is being recognized by Ernst & Young as a dedicated leader promoting women’s advancement, an innovative thought leader, and a treasured sponsor and mentor. Carolyn lives the values of “women helping women.” She opens doors for women by sharing her own experiences, engaging others to share their stories, and helping women develop their leadership skills and networks. Carolyn has authored ground-breaking research, which has opened minds and shaped the dialogue on women’s issues. Marjorie Magner is a founding member and Managing Partner of Brysam Global Partners. Prior to the formation of Brysam, she served as Chairman and CEO of the Global Consumer Group at Citigroup from 2003 to October 2005. Marge has been an advocate for women throughout her career, taking on leadership and mentoring roles within her industry to ensure that women are represented at senior levels of organizations and in the board room. She is Chairman of the Board of Gannett Company Inc., and director of Accenture, as well as Ally Financial. She also serves as a trustee for the Brooklyn College Foundation and as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.

Stephanie Mehta is executive editor of FORTUNE, overseeing technology, international, and Washington coverage. She also helps set the overall editorial direction for the magazine and serves as co-chair of two of Fortune’s live events, Brainstorm Tech and the Most Powerful Women Summit. Previously, Stephanie served as assistant managing editor and global editor. Before moving into editor roles, she was one of the magazine’s most prolific writers. Yvonne L. Moore is Executive Director of the Daphne Foundation. Yvonne holds a BA from Texas Tech University, an MS from The New School for Social Research, and has completed graduate studies in democracy and civil society at the University of Cape Town. In 2009, Yvonne was selected by the Association for Black Foundation Executives as a Connecting Leaders Fellow and is a founding member of New York City Blacks in Philanthropy. Deborah Toppmeyer, MD
Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Solid Tumor Oncology and Director of the Stacy Goldstein Breast Cancer Center and the LIFE Center at The Cancer Institute of NJ
Deborah Toppmeyer is also an associate professor of medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Deborah is an expert in the treatment and genetics of breast cancer and the design and implementation of clinical trials that offer promising new targeted therapies. She helps her patients navigate through treatment options while encouraging enrollment in clinical trials, and simultaneously provides opportunities for students to learn cancer biology, cancer pharmacology, genetics, and clinical care.
Founder & Director, The Shirley Chisholm Project
Barbara Winslow, an academic and activist, attended the 1974 founding convention of the Coalition of Labor Union Women, and spent much of the seventies speaking to trade unionists about women's labor activism and women’s rights. She is a founder and officer of the Reproductive Rights National Network and is a professor in the School of Education and the Women’s Studies Program at Brooklyn College. Barbara speaks and writes about women’s political activism, women’s suffrage, second wave feminism, and integrating women and gender into the schools’ curriculum. She is the founder and Director of the Shirley Chisholm Project of Brooklyn Women’s Activism, 1945 to the Present.
Miriam W. Yeung
Executive Director, National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum
Miriam Yeung guides the country’s only national, multi-issue, progressive organization dedicated to social justice and human rights for Asian and Pacific Islander women and girls in the US. With offices in New York City and D.C., and chapters in 11 cities, NAPAWF’s current priorities include winning rights for immigrant women, making nail salons safer for workers, conducting community-based participatory research with young API women and ending human trafficking. Prior to NAPAWF, Miriam held many positions during her 10-year career at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center (the Center) in New York City. Born in Hong Kong and raised in the projects of Brooklyn, Miriam is a proud queer Asian-American immigrant woman activist who is committed to social-justice movement building and raising her two daughters to be fearless. Miriam also serves on the board of Generations Ahead.

NCRW harnesses the collective power of its network to provide knowledge, analysis, and thought leadership on issues ranging from reducing women’s poverty to building a critical mass of women’s leadership across sectors.
