The Barnard Center for Research on Women recently released The Work-Family Dilemma: A Better Balance, a comprehensive review of work-family issues and policy recommendations. The report highlights the importance of a work/family balance and gives special attention to the lack of policy analysis in terms of class. To read the full report, please click here.
New Appointment

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) welcomes Linda D. Hallman as its new Executive Director. Hallman joins the AAUW with a long history of executive-level association and foundation experience in the Washington, D.C., area. Most recently, she served as vice president of policy and government strategy, external and member relations, with the National Alliance for Health Information Technology (NAHIT).

Nominate your Center for an NCRW Award

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2008

 

This year, the Council will be giving three Awards to recognize excellence among our member centers: the Member Center Award, the Policy-Advocacy Award, and the Research and Scholarship Award. Application and nomination forms will be released on March 3, 2008.

 

Past Outstanding Member Center Award recipients include the Center for the Education of Women (CEW) at the University of Michigan, the Center for the Study of Women in Society at the University of Oregon, the Feminist Press at the City University of New York, the Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR) and the Wellesley Center for Women at Wellesley College.

  

Award winners will receive a travel stipend of up to  $500.00 and a waiver of the registration fee to attend the NCRW Annual Conference in New York City.
