The Women’s Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) is excited to announce the addition of the biography and video interview of Barbara Buckely to their growing collection on their website, wrin.unlv.edu

The WRIN website serves as a site of research and education about the history of women in southernNevada.  The site contains video, audio, and images of the women featured.  WRIN is continually adding new women to the site that currently includes more than 75 Nevada women.  The site serves as a source to researchers and a general education tool for students and the community.  WRIN will be spotlighting a new biography each month.

The Southwest Institute for Research on Women, SIROW, in partnership with the James E. Rogers College of Law's Immigration Law Clinic, provides social support, advocacy, and legal services to vulnerable women detained for months to years while the government determines whether to deport them or grant them legal immigration status to remain in the country.

Alumni Jane Waldfogel '89 of the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy was recently quoted in a New York Times article, "Bleak Portrait of Poverty Is Off the Mark, Experts Say." Waldfogel' year in the WPPP program led her to a Ph.D.

Sumru Erkut, Ph.D., associate director and senior research scientist at the Wellesley Centers for Women, conducted a study called the Critical Mass Project. The goal of the study was to determine how many women were needed on a corporate board in order for their contributions to make a real difference. Watch the video to learn more.
