San Francisco's DBL Investors may be the only female-run venture capital firm in the U.S.
From the article:
There are 462 venture capital firms in the United States, but just one is run by women, according to the National Venture Capital Association.
That would be DBL Investors, a small San Francisco firm that has something else that sets it apart. The initials in its name stand for "double bottom line" -- a reflection of its focus on achieving both a social and a financial return on its investments. Lately, the firm has enjoyed plenty of both, thanks in part to early bets made on electric-car maker Tesla and online jukebox Pandora.
