The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) at the University of Utah serves as the central resource for educational and support services for women. Honoring the complexities of women’s identities, the WRC facilitates choices and changes through programs, counseling, and training grounded in a commitment to advance social justice and equality.

# Community Service
Counseling and Support Groups. The Women's Resource Center offers individual counseling for students, staff, and faculty. In addition, the center coordinates support groups based around different issues. Recent groups include: Women's Divorce Support Group; Body Politics: Women, Food, and Body Image; Eating Disorders Therapy Group; International Women's Support Group; Adult Adoptee Support Group; and Lesbian Support Group.
Go Girlz Community Initiative. The Go Girlz Community Initiative is a program the Women’s Resource Center at the University of Utah developed over the past five years to target underserved populations, primarily minority, first generation, economically disadvantaged female students, grades 7-12, in the Salt Lake City school district, with the goal of early exposure to higher education.
Student Affairs Diversity Council. In 2008 Student Affairs (SA) began to develop a diversity council to address diversity issues related to SA. The Student Affairs Diversity Council (The Council) met for the first time in July 2009, and included representatives from each SA office. This Council will help to identify the needs of each office, receive training and assist with training of other offices.
# Economic Literacy
Money Matters. The Money Matters - Portfolio Basics workshop is designed to provide an overview for women and men who want to understand basic investment components. Sessions cover such topics as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and annuities.
# Employment Issues
Women's Career Development and Women's Career Workshops. Recent and future workshops dealing with women's careers are for any stage of the career exploration process. Participants identify career interests, values, abilities, beliefs, and personal characteristics that can be applied to career exploration and choice. Workshops also address general women in the workplace issues as well as personal, interpersonal, and social pressures and expectations of working women.
# Higher Education
Non-traditional Student Workshop. Aimed at non-traditional students, this workshop offers information on admissions, financial aid, academic advising, and student orientation.
Opportunities, Grants & Fellowships
The Graduate Training Program in Feminist Multicultural Counseling allows students to become immersed in both the relevant theories and practices of feminist multicultural counseling.
The WRC prides itself on offering community support and connection. Our Volunteer Program is an important piece of our purpose and mission. Volunteers perform a variety of services at the Women’s Resource Center which include general office work such as answering phones, filing, and other duties as assigned.
