Recalculating Agendas for Economic Security

Location: Graduate Center at the City University of New York

Event Date: June 6, 2005

Speakers: Mimi Abramovitz, Terri McCullough, Sandra Morgen

Moderator: Sandra Morgen

Points for Action:

  • Educate all women to understand and reframe tax, taxation, spending, and economic issues as women’s issues.

  • Build alliances between poor, working, and middle class women.

  • Help women of all income levels understand their own economic self-interest and how that self-interest does or does not align with current policy.

  • Build partnerships by making economic analyses widely available to policy groups, research centers, local/activist organizations; educate progressive organizations whose work directly relates to tax policy how such policies affect women.
