CEDAW: Time to Get the US on Board
Come and learn why US ratification of CEDAW matters to women in this country and around the world and what you can do to help make it a reality. The women of the world are watching to see if we will join with them or stay in the company of the handful of other countries (Sudan, Somalia, Iran and a few smaller nations) who have not joined in this international cooperative effort for women's equality.
Join Demos, the World Policy Institute, the Ms. Foundation for Women, the National Council for Research on Women, the Eleanor Roosevelt Initiative at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute, Amnesty International, the American Civil Liberties Union and the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College, Columbia University for an important discussion on the need for US ratification of CEDAW and the steps we can take to make it a reality.
This panel is a part of the Women's Leadership Initiative at Demos. The Women's Leadership Initiative highlights fresh thinking, research, and writing about the importance of women's equality and leadership in building a strong democracy and securing economic prosperity.
