http://www.women.wsu.edu/
The Women’s Resource Center develops programs to celebrate women’s diversity and contributions, while actively confronting societal challenges and obstacles through activism and working for change. Our programs address gender, race, class, and their intersections, recognizing the relevance of these inter-related social issues. Offering resources and educational programs to members of our university, we engage the larger constituencies to act as change agents for a more diverse and inclusive educational system. The Center is one of the nine institutions nationally to serve as a regional site for the National Education for Women (NEW) program. NEW Leadership Inland Northwest is a year-long leadership education experience, beginning with an intensive five-day summer institute. The innovative curriculum is designed to teach students about the diversity of women's history and contemporary participation in politics and policy-making, connect students with women leaders who make a difference in the public sphere, and cultivate students' leadership skills that would enable them to practice leadership through action. The program aims to enhance women's political participation by taking positive action to build a critical mass of women leaders.
