CENTER DESCRIPTION

The Women's Interart Center is a not-for-profit cultural organization committed to the development and presentation of women artists in the performing, visual, and media arts. The center has produced more than 600 events, including productions that have generated numerous awards, including Obie Awards and Drama Desks. In addition, the center also acts as a catalyst within its local community to bring revitalization to an area, known as the Clinton Urban Renewal Area in Manhattan, long designated "distressed" by the State of New York.

    • The center has been involved with a number of plays, film and video. Please contact the center for a complete list of past events and activities.

  • Community Service and Development
    • Clinton Urban Renewal Area. The Interart Center is an advocate of the community's development plan for the Clinton Urban Renewal Area. Along with the Clinton Preservation Local Development Corporation, the center is involved in planning for the renovation and new construction of facilities that will enhance its ability to produce and present the new work of women artists and create jobs and cultural programming for its community.
