CENTER DESCRIPTION
The Office of Women in Higher Education (OWHE) is a component of the American Council on Education. OWHE seeks to identify qualified women leaders, develop their leadership skills, advance them into deanships, vice presidencies, and presidencies of higher education institutions or equivalent positions. OWHE also supports the tenure of mid- and senior-level women administrators and educators. These goals are promoted through coordinating institutes, conferences, and forums, hosting roundtables for presidents, supporting research on women college and universities presidents, and publishing and disseminating materials on gender in higher education.
