CENTER DESCRIPTION  
Founded over 125 years ago, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) continues its dynamic and distinguished tradition of advancing educational and career opportunities for women and girls. Thorough its Educational Foundation, AAUW awards over three million dollars annually in fellowships to women pursuing graduate education as well as grants to community activists helping improve the lives of women and girls. Through its Legal Advocacy Fund, AAUW provides assistance to women seeking redress for sex discrimination in higher education. AAUW is also known for its rigorous research and its public advocacy on gender equity in education and in the workplace. With nearly a hundred thousand dedicated members, AAUW represents one of the largest women’s advocacy organizations serving as a voice for women and girls in public policy at the national and state level.
