Twenty-five years ago, in the case of Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled for the first time that sexual harassment constitutes unlawful sex discrimination. In a new report, Ending Sex and Race Discrimination in the Workplace: Legal Interventions that Push the Envelope, the Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR) examines how legal remedies have been used to address sexual harassment. The report is based on case studies and analysis of 500 employment discrimination settlements, ranging from female professionals in financial services to undocumented migrant women workers in agribusiness. Please join us for a presentation of the report and a panel discussion with experts and advocates currently working in the field. Click here for a link to the full report.
This is a free public event, but RSVPs are requested. Please respond with acceptances only to usstudies@wilsoncenter.org.
