When you hear the phrase “work-life balance,” the image that comes to mind for many is women juggling baby bottles and Blackberries. However the speakers at the Emerging Leaders Network’s Making Life Work for You panel on April 30 challenged the audience to see how the concept of work-life balance applies to all professionals: men and women, entry level and senior leadership.

Mary Thom, journalist and editor-and-chief for the Women’s Media Center, has died.  A prominent feminist, Thom was a former editor of Ms. Magazine and a consultant for NCRW. Her work with NCRW includes "Balancing the Equation: Where are Women and Girls in Science, Engineering, and Technology?" and The Challenge and the Charge: Strategies for Retaining and Advancing Women of Color."  Read more
